Bkper Apps and Bots take care of repetitive bookkeeping so you can focus on decisions instead of data entry. Each bot listens for specific events in your books and reacts automatically — recording tax entries, converting currencies, updating subledgers, or tracking inventory.
What bots can do
Bots operate within your books and respond to events like posting, checking, or editing transactions. Common automations include:
- Tax calculations — the Tax Bot records tax entries automatically when transactions are posted, based on rates defined in your account properties.
- Currency conversion — the Exchange Bot converts amounts between currencies using daily exchange rates.
- Subledger management — the Subledger Bot mirrors transactions across connected books to keep consolidated and subsidiary records in sync.
- Portfolio tracking — the Portfolio Bot calculates gains, losses, and performance metrics for financial instruments.
- Inventory tracking — the Inventory Bot manages stock quantities and cost calculations as goods move through your accounts.
Getting started
Browse and install bots from the Automations Portal inside any book. Each bot requires specific properties on your accounts or book to define how it should behave — consult the documentation for the bot you want to use.
Once installed, bots work silently in the background. Their actions appear in your Events history, and any errors are flagged for your review. See Bots Execution for details on how bots process events, handle retries, and report errors.
